Takenoko

As a collector of cute boardgames, my husband bought us "Takenoko" which has the perfect and cutest components. It's a game where players are given three goals (score cards) to complete - 1. make the gardener plant bamboo trees on the land tiles 2. make the panda eat the bamboo trees 3. place the land tiles with the same color and order as your score card. When the player completes the goal written on the card, you are given points and the player with the most points wins the game.

The game starts from rolling the dice to find out the weather and then are given two actions you have to choose from 1. move the gardener 2. move the panda 3. pick one land tile 4. pick one score card 5. take one water tile to make a river.

The artwork is fantastic and I thought the rules are quite easy to understand even with beginners.

I also liked how you stack the bamboo trees to make them longer. But as usually, Kotetsu kept on knocking them off the tiles.

Dinner Time with Kotetsu

Kotestu always wants to be part of the family. When we start to eat dinner, Kotetsu creeps up to the table and stares at what we are eating. We teached him not to climb up the dinner table so he stays in the seat and just stares which is very adorable!

Kokeshi Collection

Even if I'm Japanese, I didn't really know or try to know about the old fashioned Japanese dolls, "Kokeshi". But after my colleague introduced us how Kokeshi can be charming and took us to a little exhibition of Kokeshi, my husband and I started to get interested in them. These dolls are originally from northern Japan and are handmade from wood. We have a Japanese style room with tatami and shoji screens so Kokeshi really matches well with this room.

But Kotestu just keeps on knocking them out...

Stalking Cat

Kotetsu is now about six months old. He's still a baby and follows us around wherever we go. When I take a bath, he always cries outside the bathroom so I usually open the door to not make him feel lonely when he's waiting for me to finish my bath.

Say Hello to Kotetsu

My husband's friend rescued three adorable kittens and was finding someone who can adopt one of them. We first visited this friend's home to just meet these kittens but at the first sight, we fell in love and decided to adopt one which we named it "Kotetsu".

Pustefix Magnet

Today, I bought Pustefix' Bear magnet.
It came with the large bubble tube.

This Bear's name is "pusti bear" according to the PUSTEFIX official site.
He's wearing the Pustefix t-shirt which is really kawaii. ( He's really cute!!)

But there's one problem.
The magnet is only inside his legs so when I put him on my refrigerator,
he's upside-down!!

Otama Lesson

I hosted a class of "how to knit otama" at my house on Sunday.

This time, I only invited girls and had an inside picnic!
Everybody brought their lunch and sweets.

onigiri (Japanese rice ball), croquette, chicken.
scone, cheese cake, roll cake, pudding. yummy!

After enjoying eating, we started to knit otama.

Everyone made their own original otama face which was very cute!
Faces like goldfish, puppy, strawberry sumo wrestler, and so on.
